Baghdad/Al-Masala: The Babylon Police Command announced, on Monday, the discovery of a crime of embezzlement of an amount of “570 million dinars” from a private bank.
The command stated in a statement, "Thanks to the precise and professional work of the Small Substances Crime Combating Division, the security forces were able to uncover the crime of embezzling an amount of 570 million Iraqi dinars from a private bank."
She explained that "the arrest was made based on a report received from the bank. The division began conducting an extensive investigation that included monitoring surveillance cameras, interrogating employees, and analyzing financial records, which led to reaching the accused who confessed to committing the crime."
She pointed out that "the accused confessed to committing the crime, as he withdrew the embezzled amount in separate installments, and the security services, in cooperation with the judiciary, were able to collect sufficient evidence to convict and arrest him."
