    Information / Baghdad..
The Parliamentary Planning Committee confirmed, on Tuesday, that the government did not achieve what it pledged in its program, which it reviewed with the House of Representatives.
The deputy chairman of the committee, Muhammad Al-Baldawi, said in a statement to Al-Maalouma Agency, "The expenses in the budget tables for the current year that were approved by Parliament are still high, and the government must consider reducing those expenses in the tables for next year, provided that they do not affect, in one way or another, the vital sectors and vulnerable groups."
He added, "The state of corruption is still ongoing in the government sectors, despite the Sudanese government taking a series of measures to reduce it, but it has not achieved what it pledged in its government program that was voted on by the House of Representatives."
He pointed out that "the reason behind this is summarized in the heavy legacies left by the previous government, in addition to the delay in completing the rulings against those involved in corruption, as well as the delay in the steps to implement electronic governance for departments that provide the treasury with large financial revenues such as taxes, border crossings, and levies of ministries and institutions not linked to a ministry."
Al-Baldawi called on the government to "reconsider reducing expenditures during the preparation of the 2025 budget schedules, provided that it does not affect, in one way or another, vital sectors and vulnerable groups."
It is noteworthy that there are tangible positive indicators in the growth of non-oil revenues for the year 2024 achieved by the Sudanese government compared to previous years, which reached record levels. End / 25m
