Member of the Parliamentary Finance Committee, Mudhar Al-Karwi, confirmed on Tuesday that Baghdad has begun financing the governorates to complete their government projects.
Al-Karwi said in an interview with Al-Maalouma, "The government has begun funding projects in various service sectors in the Iraqi governorates, and there are payments that will arrive successively in order to complete the payment of funds to companies and contractors according to the approved official regulations."
He added, "Rationalizing consumption during the 2025 budget, which the government will begin preparing early, will be an important path, especially since there is a deficit with the decline in oil prices."
He pointed out that "there is a vision by the committee to pressure towards increasing the prospects of non-oil revenues in the country's budget to avoid fluctuations in oil sales prices, the revenues of which constitute about 90% of the country's treasury in general."
It is noteworthy that the government adopted the three-year budget path with slight changes in the numbers, but each time it shows large deficit numbers. End 25 F
