Kazem pointed out that there are instructions regarding departing and returning travelers from the Supreme Security Committee for the Population Census, in addition to launching the special census of the Bedouin population, which the teams began the day before yesterday, with the aim of covering all parts of the country with the census and reaching the smallest unit and the most distant residential area, especially since the census included social classes from urban, rural and Bedouin.
For his part, the official spokesman for the ministry, Abdul Zahra Al-Hindawi, stated that the ministry announced its readiness to conduct the population census on the 20th and 21st of this November, noting that for the first time an electronic census is being conducted in the country, and 120,000 researchers will participate in the counting operations.
He pointed out that the ministry has formed an operations room in each governorate headed by the governor, and its membership includes representatives from the statistics department responsible for the census process carried out by the field researcher who is linked to the center, and ensures that the information is sent to the operations room, which in turn sends it to the main room in the ministry electronically and immediately, adding that the final results of the census will be issued two months after it is conducted, including all the information received, including the number of housing units, social level, percentage of youth and elderly, as well as the numbers of males and females.
Al-Hindawi stressed that the ministry's teams, represented by enumerators and researchers in Baghdad and the governorates, will visit families in their homes three or four days before the general population and housing census, noting that the visit aims to explain what is required of them, through the census form that includes 70 diverse questions related to the characteristics of the individual and topics of health, education, housing and services, in order to complete the process of obtaining information in the best possible way. He
continued that the researchers and enumerators, numbering 120,000 and reinforced with the same number of tablets, will be identified by the ministry through official badges and special uniforms, noting at the same time that the security services will be close to the enumerators and citizens, in order to secure the census procedures in the best possible way.
Al-Hindawi added that the census will be conducted amid security measures represented by a curfew, calling on citizens to[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]With mobile teams and facilitating their work, so that they can obtain clear and accurate indicators to measure development, and thus develop effective plans to address problems and develop future solutions for them.
