Iran's Energy Minister Reza Erdkanian has confirmed that his country is exporting about 1,300 megawatts of electricity to Iraq, Pakistan and Afghanistan.
"There is a possibility to import 700 megawatts. Iran is currently importing electricity from Turkmenistan, Armenia and Azerbaijan," he told state television.
Minister Erdkanian pointed out that Iran has an energy exchange network with all neighboring countries and that this is a great advantage, and we aim to shift to a huge energy pole in the region.
He stressed that Iran intends through Azerbaijan and Georgia to communicate electrically with Russia and then to Europe.
On the other hand, the Iranian Energy Minister denied rumors of exporting water to the Arab countries, stressing that Iran does not have any program to transfer water to neighboring countries or even the future.
