    Oil Minister Jabbar al-Luaibi announced the immediate investment of gas associated with Al Gharaf and Nasiriyah fields in Dhi Qar province during the signing ceremony of the associated gas investment contract in the fields with Baker Hughes / General Electric.
    "The energy invested from the gas associated with the production operations of Gharraf and Nasiriyah will reach 200 million standard cubic feet per day and the project will provide 1,000 tons of liquid gas and 900 cubic meters of condensate," Al-Allaibi said in a statement. "The project will provide 500 jobs for the people of the province, and the implementing company will establish a residential complex for workers and provide services to the province."
    Al-Allaibi pointed out that "the production of gas will provide quantities of dry gas, which is equipped with power plants, as well as stop waste in the wealth of gas and reduce environmental pollution, and this is through the ministry's plan to stop burning gas as part of a strategy until 2022, To the optimal investment of gas associated with the fields of the provinces of Dhi Qar and Maysan and some fields in Basra.
    The oil ministry had signed in April a contract initials with Bakerhaus / General Electric to invest gas associated with the fields of Gharraf and Nasiriyah oil in the province of Dhi Qar.
