The Integrity Commission announced on Wednesday that it had arrested a customs official between Erbil and Kirkuk, along with a number of customs cadres, against corruption files.
"The customs official at the point between Arbil and Kirkuk and its cadres, they practiced corruption in the collection of drawings and taxes on goods," the statement said.
The statement pointed out that "large corruption operations took place in the customs point mentioned," noting that "the accused detainees have been transferred to the judiciary for investigation in this regard."
