MP of the National Coalition Zaytoun al-Dulaimi, Saturday, the House of Representatives' decision to freeze the work of the provincial councils if the date of local elections is not submitted.
"Most of the political blocs agree to submit the date of provincial elections for the nearest time because of more than one year and nine months after the end of the constitutional term of the local councils," Dulaimi said in a statement.
She added that "the Vice-President of the Council and the Provincial Committee met the Chairman of the Board of Commissioners and a number of its members in the Constitutional Hall and informed them to submit the date of holding elections provincial councils, otherwise the House of Representatives will issue a decision to freeze the work of the Councils until the holding of new elections."
Dulaimi pointed out that "the political blocs do not have any idea to legislate a law abolishing the work of those councils." Ending / 25
