The Basra Oil Company announced on Monday that it allocated $ 5 million to set up a specialized center for the treatment of drug addiction patients in cooperation with the Department of Health of the province.
The company's director, Ihsan Abdul-Jabbar, said in a statement quoted by the official newspaper "Al-Sabah" that the company "allocated $ 5 million of the social benefits prescribed by oil service contracts to establish a modern center specialized to combat drug addicts."
He added that "the technical and engineering bodies started work on selecting the plot of land for the implementation of the project within a period of 45 days."
