The Ministry of [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] announced on Sunday the allocation of more than 433 thousand acres to grow the [url=https://www.thebaghdadpost.com/ar/Story/t/4244/%D9%85%D8%AD%D8%B5%D9%88%D9%84 %D8%A7%D9%84%D8%B4%D9%84%D8%A8]crop of milk[/url] during the current season in four provinces, referring to the re-planting of milk in the provinces of Diyala, Wasit and Maysan after a break for 20 years.
"This year's water reserves of more than 57 billion cubic meters have encouraged the Ministry of [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] to increase strategic crops such as rice, barley and wheat," ministry spokesman Hamid al-Naif said in a statement .
He added that "the ministry allocated more than 433 thousand acres to grow the [url=https://www.thebaghdadpost.com/ar/Story/t/4244/%D9%85%D8%AD%D8%B5%D9%88%D9%84 %D8%A7%D9%84%D8%B4%D9%84%D8%A8]crop of milk[/url] during the current season in four provinces, namely Wasit, Diwaniyah, Diyala and Maysan within the current agricultural plan."
He added that "the cultivation of rice returned to the arm of the Tigris after more than 20 years to prevent them because of water scarcity, as well as the policies of the former regime," noting that "the plan will increase Iraqi strategic crops and reduce the dependence on external imports of those crops."
