(Baghdad: Al Furat News) Today, Monday, the Minister of Interior, Yassin Al-Yasiri, held a meeting with the Director of Human Rights, Taghreed Ismail, who is affiliated to the Ministry’s headquarters.
Al-Yasiri stressed during the meeting, "cooperation and communication with international organizations and the High Commissioner for Human Rights, directed at the same time to form working teams to diagnose any violation in the departments of the ministry."
He also instructed "to prepare a training program for the relevant authorities that have direct contact with the citizen, stressing the opening of full human rights in all governorates to monitor any violation that may happen to the citizen."
The Minister of the Interior pointed out "the importance of making more efforts to reduce violations, noting the need not to tolerate anyone who violates human rights in the ministry's service departments."
He pointed out that "human rights are not only concerned with monitoring negative cases and violations, but rather should work to establish a culture of good interaction between the policeman and the citizen and the general behavior that governs the relationship of the ministry's employee to citizens."
