Parliamentary committee reveals the fate of appointments and financial grants
    Baghdad - Waaa - Sanaa al-Badiri
The Finance Committee of the House of Representatives on Tuesday revealed the fate of all appointments and financial grants issued by the outgoing government of Adel Abdel Mahdi.
"All the financial appointments and grants issued by the outgoing government of Adel Abdul Mahdi are respected by allawi's new government to show credibility with the Iraqi people, amid crises in the country," Finance Committee member Hanin Qaddou told The Iraqi News Agency.
He added that "the committee is still waiting for the budget after it was amended by the new government, to discuss some of the priorities that it has from the committee, in order to approve it, and then discuss it with the Ministry of Planning and Finance and the Council of Ministers, to come up with a final version that is in line with the requirements of the current phase."
He stressed that "the decisions of appointment and financial grants from the outgoing government, although emotional, as a result of public demands in the demonstrations, will be addressed, with emphasis on respect by the current government."
The parliamentary finance committee had earlier confirmed that the government of Mohammed Tawfiq Allawi would review some of the paragraphs of the 2020 general budget to address the fiscal deficit.
"Prime Minister-designate Mohammed Tawfiq Allawi cannot approve the budget and send it to parliament, until after the vote on his cabinet and his government's program," committee member Ahmed Hama told The Iraqi News Agency (AAP).
Allawi has many observations on many financial and economic matters in the country, and all problems can be addressed in a short or phased manner, he said.
