The Turkish Ambassador to Baghdad, Fateh Yildiz, confirmed that he informed Iraqi officials that his country will continue to take the required steps as long as the threat of the PKK is not ended.
Yildiz said, in a press statement after his talks at the Foreign Ministry, that "Iraqi officials have informed him of their annoyance with the military operations in recent times," noting that he "emphasized during the meeting the threat that BK Ka posed not only to Turkey but also to [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] and the region as well." .
He added, “He made it clear to the Iraqi side that Turkey derived the legitimacy of its operations against the PKK targets in northern [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] from international law and the legitimate principle of self-defense contained in the United Nations Charter.”
He pointed out that he stressed in the meeting that Turkey will continue to take the required steps with full determination by using its right to legitimate self-defense, as long as the threat of Pi Ka against him is not ended.
He explained, "Makhmour camp lost a long time its characteristic as a humanitarian camp, and that the relevant institutions in the United Nations accepted that," noting that "Makhmour camp turned into a den of terrorism, and I conveyed to the Iraqi side the need to find a solution to the problem related to the camp at the earliest time."
He stressed, "Turkey respects the unity and sovereignty of Iraqi soil, and it is waiting for Baghdad to do its part in combating terrorism."
Yesterday, Thursday, the Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned the Turkish ambassador to Baghdad to its headquarters, against the background of Turkish aircraft violating Iraqi airspace and the bombing of a camp in Makhmour that killed two women. End / 25
