Iran: Iraq informed us of Bin Salman's desire for public negotiations
Shafaq News/ The Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman, Nasser Kanaani, confirmed on Monday that the Saudi Crown Prince, Mohammed bin Salman, welcomed conducting public negotiations with Iran to resolve the outstanding issues.
Kanaani said in the weekly press conference that "five rounds of negotiations between Tehran and Riyadh in Baghdad were positive."
Kanaan added that "Iraqi Foreign Minister Fouad Hussein confirmed, during the phone call with his counterpart, Iranian Foreign Minister Hussein Amir Abdollahian, that Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman welcomed the political and public dialogue between Tehran and Riyadh."
"We also welcome, and the ground is available to hold the next round of negotiations formally, politically and publicly, and we thank the efforts and positive role of Baghdad in this regard, and we hope that we will be able to take positive steps in the next round," Kanaani added.
Iranian and Saudi officials have held negotiating sessions to solve the problems between the two countries in the Iraqi capital, Baghdad, since April 2021, in order to bring views closer and restore diplomatic relations between the two countries to their previous era.
