Sorout: An investigation into transferring intelligence officers to the ports

(Baghdad: Al Furat News) A member of the Parliamentary Security and Defense Committee, Abbas Sarout, confirmed that there is a movement to open an investigation into the issue of transferring intelligence officers to the ports.
"The change that occurred in the intelligence apparatus led to astonishment at the security institutions," Sorout told Al-Furat News Agency, asking how they were transferred to the border crossings.
He added, "The ports are very important for the Iraqi economy to be linked to them."
And he went on to say: "If the intelligence service is not competent, how can it be transported to such a sensitive place."
He stressed that his committee "will have a role in the investigation in this aspect."
The media of the intelligence service had previously stated that “officers and affiliates of the agency are soldiers loyal to their country in any location in which they work. The aforementioned administrative procedure was carried out in accordance with this national and professional vision and in response to the request of the Border Ports Authority of the need for a set of elements to support the work of the outlets professionally and in security.
