The Governor of Basra, Asaad Al-Eidani, rejected today, Thursday, allegations that funds for the reconstruction of his governorate are going to Erbil, stressing that Dr. Fuad Hussein - in his previous capacity as Minister of Finance - is the one who has contributed most to supporting and moving Basra projects among the finance ministers during successive governments.
Al-Eidani stressed, in a televised interview, that he is against the statements claiming that “Basra’s money goes to Erbil,” indicating that the one who helped Basra most financially was Fouad Hussein, the former Finance Minister.

Al-Eidani said: “The problem is with us (in Basra), so did the region come and tell us, 'Do not long live ?!'"
He added, “The one who helped us in Basra was the Minister of Finance, Dr. Fuad Hussein, in 2019 during the era of the government of Adel Abdul Mahdi.” This is the reality".
In the conclusion of his speech, the governor of Basra emphasized that "poor planning and management was the reason for the delay in projects."
