Today, Monday, a spokesman for the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Khatibzadeh, said that we submitted a protest note to the Iraqi embassy in Tehran regarding setting fire to the wall of the Iranian consulate in Karbala.
“Unfortunately, some people attacked last night the Iranian Consulate General in Karbala, which the Iranian Consulate and the Iranian Embassy in Baghdad contacted, and the security forces dealt with them,” Zadeh said in a press conference reported by Iranian media .
He added, “The Islamic Republic of Iran strongly condemns the attack on its diplomatic facilities in Iraq and hopes that Iraq will fulfill its duties. We submitted a protest note last night to the Iraqi embassy in Iran, and we expect the Iraqi government to perform its duties well .”
