The Ministry of Oil announced the near investment of the Mansouriya gas field in
Diyala Governorate, which has an estimated capacity of 300 million standard cubic feet per day.
The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Oil, Dr. Hamed Al-Zobaie, said in an interview with Al-Sabah newspaper, which was followed by Al-Iqtisad News, that "the total quantities of associated gas that have been invested so far is 1,500 million standard cubic feet per day out of a total of 2,700 million standard cubic feet per day of associated gas." Noting that "projects of the remaining quantities amounting to 1200 million feet are under implementation, such as the Nasiriyah project by 200 million, Halfaya, which amounts to 300 million, the Basra project (BGC) by 400 million, and the Artawi South gas project, which has a capacity of 300 million, and by completing these projects, the ministry will have completed Full investment of the quantities of gas associated with oil extraction operations.
Regarding the direct investment of "free gas", Al-Zobaie stressed, "the existence of discussions and discussions with companies to develop (Akkas field) in Anbar Governorate, which is now an operating contract with one of the companies, but due to the security situation in that region, it was not able to develop the development process, and there are discussions with those The company and other international companies to reach a formula to start development processes in this promising field. "
He indicated that "the ministry is currently working on developing the Mansouriya gas field in Diyala governorate, which has an estimated capacity of 300 million feet per day of free gas. The gas fields close to it that are under exploration and development will also be invested and the ministry is working to invest them up to the full investment of free gas or Attendant in that region. "
