The Ministry of Oil expected that the beginning of next May will witness the initialing of a contract to develop the Mansouriya field in Diyala Governorate.
An official source in the ministry told Al-Sabah newspaper that the field was planned to produce one million pumps to deliver dry gas to the Mansouriya station, which is about five kilometers away, referring to the companies' withdrawal due to the security situation that the country was suffering from during the years of the second licensing round that was awarded. This contract has led to a delay in its development until now.
And the source indicated that work is currently underway with the Petroleum Contracts and Licensing Department by contracting with the company (Chinese Sibonic), which submitted the second lowest bid during the licensing round in which the field was awarded, indicating that work is underway on that, and early next month may witness the initialing of the development. Mansouriya field and send it to the Council of Ministers for approval to start work.
