The Reconstruction Fund for Areas Affected by Terrorist Operations responded, Monday (May 31, 2021), to the accusations leveled against it by the media office of the "Azm" coalition headed by Khamis Al-Khanjar. While the fund explained its working mechanism and the official parties that are affiliated with it, it announced a lawsuit against the last one.

The media office of the Affected Areas Reconstruction Fund said, in a statement received by IQ NEWS, that it "monitored a press statement issued by the media office of an electoral alliance that included false allegations and accusations that are not true to any connection. Hence, in our interest in revealing the facts, repeating those rumors and returning the truth is guaranteed." We clarify that the Fund for Reconstruction of Areas Affected by Terrorist Operations is a governmental institution that is subject in its contracts to the laws and government instructions in force, under the supervision and scrutiny of the Office of Financial Supervision, and based on a system that was approved by the Council of Ministers as it was established according to the budget law for the year 2015 and continued its work in accordance with the budget laws for subsequent years.

He added, "All the projects implemented by the fund are proposed by the affected governorates, according to what they want to suit their needs, and those plans are subject to scrutiny by our engineering staff that has experience that has completed approximately (945) projects."

He explained that "the plans are presented and approved by the board of trustees, which includes most of the ministries' agents (finance, planning, electricity, health, education, housing, water resources, industry, minerals, immigration, immigration, the interior, and defense) and the governors of the governorates under the umbrella of the fund, in addition to ambassadors of donor countries.

And he indicated that "the fund did not enter into any contractual obligation in 2020 due to the failure to approve the budget, and its work was only for continuous projects whose contracts were concluded in previous years through exceptional efforts in coordination with the concerned authorities to secure the necessary sums for the purpose of securing the restoration of stability and the return of the displaced."

He continued, "With regard to the 2021 budget, which was recently approved, the fund has not received any sums from the approved financial allocations for provincial projects until now and has not entered into any new contractual obligation," noting that "the fund has filed a lawsuit against these invalid claims to guarantee its legal right." The fact that these allegations are aimed at obstructing the march of the fund and its goals in restoring life and stability to the people of those provinces that have suffered from ISIS terrorist gangs. "

The media office of the Affected Areas Reconstruction Fund called for "keeping the fund away from political bickering and quarrels as it is the dispersion of efforts to achieve the main objectives of establishing this fund, represented by the return of the displaced to their areas of residence by providing the decent life they deserve."
