    {Economic: Al Furat News} The Central Bureau of Statistics in Iraq announced, on Saturday, that the tomato and cucumber crops are among the most productive vegetables during the summer season for the year 2020, pointing to the high production of all types of vegetables except for the "green onion" crop.

    The Directorate of Agricultural Statistics of the Authority indicated in a report for the production of summer crops for the past year 2020, followed by the agency {Euphrates News} that “the tomato crop came in first place with the most productive vegetable crops, as its production was estimated at 754.8 thousand tons for the summer season 2020, an estimated increase of 21.8% over the season in which It was preceded by it," noting that "the cucumber came in second place, as production was estimated at 242.6 thousand tons, with an estimated increase of 62.5% over the production of the previous season."
    And she pointed out that "eggplant production came third, with a production of 207.2 thousand tons, an estimated increase of 51.6% over the previous season, and then the sophistication came with a production of 200.8 thousand tons, an estimated increase of 27.02% over the production of the previous season."
    And she continued, "The production of the watermelon crop was estimated at 200.8 thousand tons during the last summer season, an increase of 27.2% over the last season, while the production of okra reached 93.7 thousand tons, an increase of 57.7% over the production of the previous year," indicating that "the production of the green bean crop reached 45.1 thousand tons, an increase of 16.8% over the production of the previous year.
    He added that "the production of trees for the summer season 2020 amounted to 38.7 thousand tons, an estimated increase of 72.8% over the production of the previous season, while the production of green onions amounted to 41 thousand tons, a decrease of 18.2% compared to the production of the previous season."
