Gold prices recorded, on Tuesday, a noticeable decline for the third consecutive day, as the dollar’s rise affected the attractiveness of the metal as a safe haven, while investors in the United States awaited the outcome of the Federal Reserve’s meeting for evidence of the unprecedented monetary stimulus tragedy.
Spot gold fell 0.1%, to $1,864.82 an ounce, while gold futures fell 0.1%, to $1,866.70 an ounce.
The dollar settled near a one-month high against its rivals, making gold more expensive for other currency holders.
Investors are awaiting the outcome of Wednesday's two-day Federal Reserve policy meeting on fiscal stimulus.
Silver fell 0.6% to $27.66 an ounce, while palladium settled at $2,748.35 an ounce, while platinum fell 0.4% to $1,159.94 an ounce. Ended 29/A 4
