    The Council of Ministers issued a special decision regarding the import of gold and precious metals, which facilitates the procedures and ensures their safety.
    The General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers stated in a document, “The Council of Ministers decided, during the forty-seventh regular session held on 11/21/2023, to approve the minutes of the meeting held at the Central Bank of Iraq regarding amending Council of Ministers Resolution (335 of 2017) regarding the import of gold and precious metals, which... It facilitates the procedures and ensures their safety according to the following:
    1- The gold importer must be an officially registered company in the Federal Companies Registration Department affiliated with the Federal Ministry of Commerce. 
    2- Entry of the imported gold shall be via air freight or the arrivals lounges of travelers at the airport. She 
    indicated that “fees and fees for importing gold shall be As follows:
    Raw gold or bullion:
    - The inspection fees for quantities of imported gold are 50 thousand dinars per kilogram, collected from the Central Agency for Standardization and Quality Control.
    - 100 thousand dinars for each customs duty for every one kilogram
    of gold jewelry (crafted gold) for the purposes of collecting the gold jewelry is collected
    - 250 thousand dinars for customs duties for every one kilogram
    - 50 thousand dinars for the fees for examining the jewelry. 
    She pointed out that “this decision will be implemented starting from The date is 12/1/2023, with the exception of the conformity of the harmonized customs code and the legality and originality of the external transfer, so the General Authority of Customs is authorized to issue the effective date to implement the conformity and controls in coordination between it and the Central Bank of Iraq.
