A member of the Parliamentary Economy and Investment Committee, Nada Jawdat, confirmed on Friday (July 9, 2021), that the Iraqi ministries are unable to provide services to citizens, attributing this to the transformation of those ministries into economic fronts.
Jawdat said in a statement to  IQ News , "All services provided to citizens are below zero, and ministries are unable to advance the level of services provided to Iraqis as a result of the political parties' dominance over them."
Jawdat added that "these ministries have turned into economic fronts for some political parties," stressing that "the government is also unable to extricate these government institutions from their miserable reality."
She indicated that "supply contracts and projects that serve citizens are controlled by corrupt brokers and managers," stressing "the exploitation of the remaining period of the government's life to combat corruption by ministries and state institutions."
It is worth noting that the cabinet line-up of all successive governments in Iraq, since 2005, is formed on the basis of a number of candidates, chosen by the winning political blocs in the parliamentary elections, and the parliament itself votes on them after the prime minister determines them.
