On Monday, the Supreme Judicial Council issued a statement on the occasion of the centenary of the establishment of the Iraqi state, stressing that the judiciary is the last bastion of justice.
In a statement received by Mawazine News, the council said: "Today passes the anniversary of the founding of modern and contemporary Iraq. On this day, corresponding to August 23, 1921, the late His Majesty King Faisal I (may God have mercy on him) was inaugurated as King of Iraq."
The statement added: "During this important century, in the history of Iraq, the region and the world, Iraq and its multiple state with all its spectrums and political tendencies, whether monarchy or republic, just or dictatorship, with all that was required of influence and influence, in events that marked the last hundred years, in the minds of Iraqis and the world.
He continued, "Since the moment of its founding, today we are celebrating the centenary, and the Iraqi judiciary has been the backbone of this country, trying to fix structural and political errors, and a striving factor to reach a level of justice worthy of Iraq and the Iraqis."
And he added: "Today, we celebrate this day, and we congratulate the Iraqis, and we affirm that the judiciary is the last castle of justice, and that it is the first and last protector of the citizen, the state, and society, and its intertwined and interdependent relationships, and that the idea of justice is the starting point for every building, and that scratching this idea is the beginning All bad."
The council concluded its statement by saying: "May God protect Iraq and the Iraqis from all evil... and the state has its protectors and sons who stay up day and night to fix the situation, and make Iraq worthy of the Iraqis." Ended 29/A43
