    The Ministry of Defense receives a number of the remains of the Iraqi martyrs who were martyred during the Iran-Iraq war
    Based on the memorandum of understanding signed between the Islamic Republics of Iraq and Iran regarding the search for the remains of the victims of the Iraqi-Iranian war (1980-1988), the technical staff of the Prisoners and Missing Persons Department of the Human Rights Directorate in the operations sectors (Basra, Maysan) received (11) the remains of Iraqi martyrs from them. One with a known identity, and the handover of (20) Iranian remains, including 9 of them with an unknown identity. The exchange process took place through the Shalamcheh border crossing and under the supervision of the Red Cross Committee.
