The realistic diagnosis of the crisis of a great country like Iraq stems from the three-letter word “justice.” In its essence, justice is the basis of the social contract, the source of the values of citizenship, and the entrance and goal of the state.
Your people know that the heavy challenges that required the solidarity of the faithful in this country for the success of the mission of the government that I was honored to preside over, were greater than mere economic, security, health and political challenges, but all of that went beyond all of that to dangerous preludes to the loss of society’s confidence in the state with all its well-known descriptions, when belief in justice began The social conscience shakes people's consciences, not in the post-2003 stages, but rather as a historical extension of the shake-up of the values of justice before this date.
What we may be proud of in front of our children and grandchildren after a while, is that we have felt the gravity of any harm to the logic of justice, fairness and equality before the law and the lack of impunity in historical Iraq, which has the full right to be a nation of diversity and justice, and the judiciary was at the forefront of dealing with these foundational moral principles .
The just Iraqi judiciary issued the death sentence against the murderer of journalist and civil activist Ahmed Abdel Samad and his colleague, photographer Safa Ghali and activist Mojtaba Ahmed, and the justice that preceded the arrest and trial of the killers of researcher Hisham Al Hashemi and the killers of demonstrators and any perpetrator of pure Iraqi blood from ISIS terrorists and criminals, not to mention opening corruption files The trial of those responsible are all situations that call for the pride worthy of the pillar of the homeland and the balance of truth represented by the judiciary.
Dealing with human life, which God has honored and cherished with reason, dignity and higher values, is not a qualitative issue, but rather a major responsibility that should not be taken lightly.
Although over the past months we have faced great challenges at the level of preserving the blood of Iraqis and avoided opening any door that would cause the waste of pure Iraqi blood, but we were and still rely on the values of justice and legal retribution against everyone who was involved in the unjustly wasting of an Iraqi soul, and despite the fact that the path of justice The rule of law still requires more work and patience. We, in cooperation with the judiciary, have made great strides on its path.
We are fully aware of the level of challenges facing the judiciary, which we acknowledge that it is still operating with less than its capacity, capabilities and prospects, and these challenges are inseparable from those facing the concept of the state in Iraq in general. Consolidating the values of justice and fairness, and there is still a duty to maintain and develop this atmosphere, fairness of the judiciary and judges, consecrating their independence and stimulating their energies.
