An informed political source revealed, on Saturday, that the leader of the Sadrist movement, Muqtada al-Sadr, rejected a proposal from the coordinating framework for merging with them and forming the largest bloc in the Iraqi parliament that is tasked with the new federal government.
The source said, "Mr. Al-Sadr informed, during today's Al-Hanana meeting, the coordination framework delegation, its refusal to enter the Sadrist bloc with the framework forces in one bloc to announce the largest bloc."
He added that Mr. Al-Sadr "stressed the survival of the tripartite alliance and communication with the framework forces in the capacity of the tripartite alliance, and this was rejected by the delegation of the framework and stressed the need to form a larger Shiite bloc to agree and agree on the next prime minister."
