The media center of the Ministry of Industry stated, in an interview with the official news agency, followed by / Mawazine News, that "the Ministry of Industry and Minerals has recently taken upon itself to support green industries that are environmentally friendly, by concluding investment contracts with Iraqi and foreign private sector companies to produce products and provide new services that keep pace with development." It enhances the national industrial development by introducing previously unheard-of production lines and technologies for new products needed by Iraqi society with the acceleration of modernity and progress globally.”
The center added that "there are many examples of these new products that the ministry's formations have succeeded in producing according to the approved standard specifications, such as: environmentally friendly plastic tubes and caps, soil-fixed anti-desertification fertilizers, medicines, cosmetics, advanced cleaning and sterilization materials that match their global counterparts, and people's fumigation rooms, Economical lamps and solar panels, large irrigation pumps and water desalination systems, asphalt coatings and concrete additives produced for the first time according to the latest environmentally friendly methods, new bumps and rubber floors, electric powered cars, and waste treatment and recycling systems.”
And he continued: "A practical example of this is the opening of the used tire recycling plant at the site of the Diwaniyah Tire Factory affiliated to the General Company for Rubber and Tire Industries in 2020, where the factory was established according to a partnership contract with a local private sector company and with the support and technical support of a Chinese company for recycling tires. The consumed as a raw material, shredded, and transformed into a variety of useful and environmentally friendly products, including (granules, tiles, rubber bumps, fuel oil product, carbon, iron wire scrap, etc.).

In light of this, empty yards and lands were allocated in coordination with sister public companies in other governorates from north to south in order to treat the huge amount of abandoned and damaged tires that affect the environment and turn them into useful products used in sports stadiums, kindergartens, car garages and on roads Streets, gardens, corridors, swimming pools, squares, beaches and many other uses, and they are according to demand in terms of strength, rigidity, measurements, qualities and uses.”
