Baghdad / Obelisk: Adviser to the Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, Mazhar Muhammad Salih, revealed on Sunday, July 3, 2022, the existence of huge un-amortized advances for ministries amounting to 150 trillion dinars that prevent the completion of final accounts.
Saleh said in a statement followed by the obelisk, that the obstacles that prevent the conduct of the final accounts are represented in the lack of budgets, and the borrowing of huge amounts of money by ministries that have not been extinguished so far, exceeding 150 trillion dinars. And he indicated that the final account procedure requires the existence of a general budget for the state, and in the absence of it, a budget law (reality status) is required to be discussed and approved by the House of Representatives.
He pointed out that the final accounts need to be prepared consecutively, as it is not possible to calculate a current year without making the calculation for the previous one, and this is expected to happen during the current year, in the event that a general budget of the state is not approved.
