Today, Wednesday, the four presidencies in Iraq considered the continuation of the state of political turmoil negatively affecting national efforts to consolidate security and stability, while stressing the need for concerted efforts by all authorities, political forces and social activities to close ranks.

The Presidency of the Republic said in a statement received by Alsumaria News, “The President of the Republic, Barham Salih, hosted today, Wednesday, August 24, 2022, a meeting that included Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi, Parliament Speaker Muhammad Al-Halbousi, and the President of the Supreme Judicial Council, Judge Faiq Zaidan, to study the latest developments in the country. and its repercussions.”

The meeting stressed, according to the statement, that "the continuation of the state of political turmoil negatively affects the national efforts aimed at consolidating security and stability and preserving the security and safety of citizens, and this calls for an active and serious stance from all to prevent escalation and adopt the national dialogue as the only way to resolve crises."

The meeting pointed to "the need to take all steps to resume effective dialogue committed to the foundations of the supreme national interest, to protect civil and social peace, to reassure citizens, and to take the necessary measures to remedy the current crisis," stressing "the need to protect all state institutions and preserve their prestige and independence in accordance with legal and constitutional contexts."
