Basra Oil issues clarification on the tender for gas investment in West Qurna field

The Basra Oil Company responded to what was circulated by some media outlets of "lies, slanders and paid allegations regarding the tender for a gas compression and drying station in the West Qurna 2 field."
In a statement, the company denied what was circulated, stressing that the Russian "Lukoil" company had supported the position of the Ministry of Oil and Basra Oil regarding the cancellation of the above tender due to the lack of the required competitive conditions, because it was limited to two companies only, and "Lukoil" pledged to announce a new competitive tender, By inviting solid specialized companies, which contribute to the implementation of joint management plans for the West Qurna 2 field, in the optimal investment of associated gas, this came through a letter received by Basra Oil from "Lukoil".
The company stressed that it will resort to the judiciary to prosecute all parties that try to mislead public opinion, and offend national and foreign companies operating in Iraq.
