    {Politics: Al Furat News} The Undersecretary of the Ministry for Bilateral Relations, Ambassador Muhammad Hussein Muhammad Bahr Al-Ulum, discussed with the Deputy Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations in Iraq for Political Affairs and Electoral Assistance, Claudio Cordone, the mechanisms for implementing Security Council Resolution 2732.

    A statement by the Foreign Ministry, a copy of which was received by {Euphrates News}, stated that: “The meeting was attended by the Deputy Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations for Humanitarian Affairs, Ghulam Muhammad, in addition to the Advisor to the Prime Minister, Farhad Abdul Aziz Alaa al-Din, the Head of the Department of International Organizations and Conferences, Fadhel al-Rahim, the Second Secretary, Firas Abdul Jalil Zahir, and the Second Secretary, Saif Abbas Hussein.” 
    Bahr Al-Uloom expressed his "appreciation for the efforts made by the United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq (UNAMI) since its establishment until now," stressing that "the relationship between Iraq and the United Nations will move to a new stage of cooperation and partnership that reflects the new priorities and developments in Iraq."
    The statement continued, "The two parties also discussed the mechanisms for implementing the directives of the Iraqi government and Security Council Resolution 2732 regarding the termination of the work of the UNAMI mission in Iraq, in addition to the nature of future work with the United Nations and its organizations in Iraq, and agreeing on a set of executive measures in this framework."
    For their part, Claudio Cordone and the UN delegation praised the Iraqi government's cooperation in the gradual end of the work of the UNAMI mission in Iraq.
