Member of Parliament Hadi Hassan held the Prime Minister responsible for suspending many laws, after they were withdrawn from Parliament and not reinstated.
Hassan said that “the Prime Minister withdrew many laws from Parliament and they have not returned to the halls of the House of Representatives yet.”
He added that “the House of Representatives approved a number of important laws, including the Workers’ Retirement Law, the Staff Law, and the Budget Law (…).”
He pointed out that “the Prime Minister is responsible for the laws that were withdrawn.”
Earlier, a member of the Parliamentary Legal Committee, Muhammad Anouz, said that “there are many laws suspended within the House of Representatives, especially the laws of the security services, as their approval now requires political consensus between the forces.” Anouz
added that “the security services are currently operating without a law and are waiting for their laws to be approved within the House of Representatives, especially the National Security Service Law and the Intelligence Service Law,” stressing that it is not permissible for the security services that protect the country to operate without legal protection for their members and to perform their national role.
