    [size=45]The Federal Integrity Commission reported that a decision was issued in absentia to sentence the director of the Al-Shaib border crossing customs center in Maysan Governorate to severe imprisonment for receiving a bribe in exchange for facilitating the entry of construction and food materials.[/size]
    [size=45]A statement by the Integrity Commission indicated that “the Maysan Misdemeanor Court, which is specialized in examining integrity cases, issued a ruling in absentia against the Director of the Civil Customs Center at the Al-Shaib border crossing, which stipulates a severe imprisonment for two years and a fine of two million dinars; for violating his job duties by receiving a bribe in exchange for facilitating the entry of construction and food materials in a manner that violates the law into the governorate.”[/size]
    [size=45]He added, “The court, after reviewing the evidence and proofs obtained in the case, reached full conviction of the defendant’s negligence, so it decided to convict him and sentence them in absentia to severe imprisonment; in accordance with the provisions of Resolution (160 of 1983) of the Penal Code, and to give the right to the aggrieved party; to claim compensation before the civil courts, after the ruling becomes final.”[/size]
    [size=45]On May 25, the Integrity Commission announced that it had been able to arrest the director of the Al-Shaib border crossing customs center in Maysan, red-handed, while receiving a bribe of 1.5 million dinars, in exchange for facilitating the entry of prohibited materials.[/size]
