SOMO announced the export of more than two million tons of petroleum derivatives during the second quarter of the current year 2024.
SOMO said in a schedule that "Iraq exported two million, 633 thousand, and 928 tons of oil derivatives from April until June of 2024."
The police added, "Iraq exported fuel oil in the amount of 2,220,413 tons, and also exported naphtha in the amount of 413,515 tons," indicating that "Iraq did not export any amount of sulfur during this period."
Naphtha is an intermediate intended either for the petrochemical industry (such as ethylene manufacturing or aromatics production) or for the production of gasoline by reforming or isomerization within the refinery.
