Al Sabah Finance Committee: The government has developed a plan to increase financial resources to secure salaries for the years 2024 and 2025

Once again, and not for the last time, the government has succeeded in managing an important file, perhaps the most important, which is money and the economy. After the noticeable stability in the markets, especially basic commodities, it was the turn to stabilize the country’s financial situation, and this is related to the salaries paid to employees, retirees, those covered by social protection, and other obligations. The Finance Committee confirmed securing salaries for the years 2024 and 2025, dispelling the concerns expressed by some, whether in good faith or with the intention of casting doubt on the government’s efforts.
Member of the Finance Committee, Jamal Koujar, told Al-Sabah: “What is being circulated in the media about not securing employees’ salaries this year is completely unfounded.”
He explained that "the Ministry of Finance does not face any problem in securing salaries even if oil prices fall, because salaries are secured in advance, in addition to the large cash reserve that the government has, which it can benefit from in times of emergency."
He added that "next year's salaries are also fully secured," explaining that "the government has developed a plan to increase its financial resources, which will enhance its ability to meet its financial obligations towards employees."
Koger also pointed out that "the Finance Committee will work to pressure the various ministries to improve their performance and increase their resources, which will contribute to achieving greater economic stability," indicating that "the government has sufficient financial resources and plans to ensure the continuity of paying salaries, which reassures employees about the stability of their financial situation this year and next year."
