Shafaq News / Al-Fateh Alliance led by Hadi Al-Amiri criticized today, Tuesday, the Presidency of the House of Representatives for not presenting important laws in the sessions of the House of Representatives, while describing the inclusion of laws as "random" and causing parliamentary resentment.
The representative of the Al-Fateh Alliance, Moeen Al-Kazemi, said during a press conference held at the parliament building, which was attended by Shafak News Agency correspondent; “The agenda of the House of Representatives is not sufficient because it does not contain important laws, and there was hope that these laws would be put forward, but unfortunately the Presidency of the House of Representatives did not provide the members of the House with the agenda until hours before the session was held.”
Al-Kazemi added that "there are more important laws that serve the Iraqi citizen, and therefore we demand the parliament's presidency to return all laws that were sent from the previous government in order to be studied by the current government."
The representative of the Al-Fateh Alliance added that "there is parliamentary dissatisfaction with the way the sessions are run, as well as the random inclusion of laws without the members being informed of them in advance."
Among the agenda of today’s session, which Al-Kazemi criticized, the vote on the decision to extend the exemption of foodstuffs from tax and customs, the second reading of the draft law on the National Day of the Republic of Iraq, and the second reading of the draft law on the first amendment to the Law on the Welfare of People with Disabilities and Special Needs No. (13) for the year (2013). , It also included the second reading of the draft Social Security and Retirement Law for Workers, as well as general discussions for MPs.
