    Today, Friday, the Parliamentary Finance Committee confirmed that the civil service bill would regulate the work of employees, their salaries and the appointments file, while experts indicated that it would replace 100 legal legislation related to employees.
    A member of the Parliamentary Finance Committee, Jamal Cougar, said, “The Federal Civil Service Law regulates the work of employees in all Iraqi state departments,” noting that “the law regulates the work of employees and their salaries and opens the fields for appointment, deletion, creation, identification and selection of department heads, which is a central law and needs to put more flexibility to limit positions. leadership in one institution.
    Cougar indicated that “Iraq has several laws to organize the work of employees and a group of institutions, and they will be collected in one law,” explaining that “the law was read first, and during the second reading, there will be several discussions within the House of Representatives and within the Finance Committee and meetings with the relevant committees and with the segments that It is not affected by the law and meetings with specialists.”
    He added, "The law is considered one of the most important laws because it affects the lives of all citizens working in the public sector, and it is certain that the observations about it will be many and profound."
     
    For his part, researcher Salam Odeh described the new federal public service law as one of the most important strategic laws and will replace nearly 100 legal legislation.
    He explained that "it will be an alternative to:
    1. Civil Service Law No. 24 of 1960
    2. Discipline of State and Public Sector Employees Law No. (14) of 1991, as amended
    3. Employment Law No. (25) of 1960 as amended
    4. Law No. (22) for the year 2008, amending the salaries of state and public sector employees
    5. Decisions of the dissolved Revolutionary Command Council related to public service
    He pointed out that "the Public Service Law is a law that regulates the work of the Federal Public Service Council, and the Federal Public Service Council undertakes appointment, re-appointment, promotion and bonuses in the public service, and it is within the Council's exclusive competence and on the basis of professionalism, efficiency and merit."
