On Thursday, the governor of Baghdad, Muhammad Jaber Al-Atta, determined the mechanism for choosing between the competitors for the thousand contracts, while clarifying the date of their commencement.
Al-Atta told the official news agency, "The number of applications submitted electronically for appointment as a contract amounted to 118,000," noting that "all submitted applications have been studied and submitted according to points."
He added, "The governorate asked only 4,000 applicants from the aforementioned number to compare them over the 1,000 contracts, as it began interviewing the applicants," calling on "people whose names appear to attend the interview, otherwise other names will be chosen from the reserve lists."
Regarding the date of commencement, Al-Atta explained, "The issue of directing the applicants in the current year or next year is linked to the issuance of the administrative order," noting that "the governorate is awaiting instructions from the Ministry of Finance regarding their commencement, as the matter depends on the completion of the applicants' data and the validity of the issuance and required documents."
He continued, "The distribution of applicants is the prerogative of the governorate, as according to the law, their appointment is based on the governorate," noting that "the governorate has many departments, and they will be distributed according to need in the future."
