The oil refining unit at Diwaniyah refinery is referred to the Council of Ministers for approval
Shafaq News/ The Ministry of Oil announced, on Monday, that the refining unit project in Al-Diwaniyah refinery, with a capacity of (70) thousand barrels per day, was referred to the Council of Ministers for approval.
"The project aims to increase the refining capacity of petroleum products, provide more than (1,500) job opportunities, and support the economic reality of the province," said Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Oil Hayan Abdul-Ghani, during his presidency of the first meeting of the Ministerial Council for Energy, according to a statement received by Shafaq News agency.
He added, "The meeting focused on the Council's discussion of a group of topics and projects included in its agenda in the sectors of" oil, electricity and water, and taking decisions and procedures in this regard."
He continued, "We all look forward to working hard in order to speed up the implementation of the components of the government program, to improve the production and development process, and to support projects to improve the service reality and infrastructure for all sectors."
He pointed out that "the presence of the relevant ministries for the energy sector and the Ministry of Finance in this council will facilitate the work of the council in finding understandings, coordination and taking important and right decisions away from bureaucratic procedures and routine."
For his part, Minister of Electricity Ziyad Ali Fadel said, "The first session included a discussion of a group of projects, including those related to supporting the supply of electric power, and it was agreed to form a joint committee with the Ministry of Oil to coordinate regarding the supply of fuel," pointing to "the agreement to overcome all problems and obstacles." , which is reflected in the reality of equipping citizens.”
The Ministerial Council for Energy consists of the ministers of oil, electricity, water resources, finance and a number of officials in the relevant ministries.
