    Economy News-Baghdad
Economic expert Abd al-Rahman al-Mashhadani ruled out the drop in real estate prices after the government's decision to own agricultural lands that were turned into residential cities.
The Council of Ministers decided, in its meeting held last Monday, to approve the ownership of agricultural land on which residential homes are built, to their owners within a period of 90 days.
Al-Mashhadani told Al-Iqtisad News, "The government's decision will not lead to a reduction in real estate prices, because the rise is linked to several factors, including money laundering in real estate, in addition to the housing crisis that the country has been suffering from for a long time."
He added, "The government's decision will lead to an increase in real estate in agricultural areas, because it has turned into landmark property."
