Shafaq News/ On Wednesday, a member of the Iraqi Parliament, Hadi al-Salami, filed a complaint with the Public Prosecution against Prime Minister Muhammad Shia al-Sudani and their government to agree to send 400 billion dinars to the Kurdistan Region to finance the salaries of employees and workers in the public sector for the last two months of the year 2022.
Al-Salami considered in his complaint, a copy of which was obtained by Shafaq News Agency, that the Council of Ministers sent the sums "in violation of Federal Supreme Court Decision No. 110/federal/2019 issued on 2-15-2022, as well as a violation of Financial Management Law No. 6 of 2019 ".
He continued by saying that "sending the aforementioned amount constitutes a willful waste of public money, in addition to considering it a crime of willful obstruction of the decision of the Federal Supreme Court mentioned above, and is punishable according to Article (329) of the Penal Code."
On Tuesday, a source from the Kurdistan Regional Government reported that Baghdad agreed to send 400 billion dinars to the region.
The source told Shafaq News agency; That "the federal government agreed to send 400 billion dinars to the region to finance the salaries of employees for the months of 11 and 12."
He added, "This decision came as part of a preliminary agreement between Erbil and Baghdad on the region's financial share."
