On Sunday, Prime Minister Muhammad Shia Al-Sudani issued a Diwaniyah order to retire former Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi and 17 ministers from his government.

According to Order No. (22305), “In view of the parliament’s granting of confidence to the new Iraqi government and its taking the constitutional oath, and based on the powers granted to us in accordance with the constitution, it was decided to refer the prime minister and members of the Council of Ministers to retirement.”

It is noteworthy that the document included two ministers within the cabinet of the current Prime Minister, Muhammad Shiaa al-Sudani, who are Minister of Foreign Affairs Fouad Hussein and Minister of Industry Khal Battal Negm.
