Shafaq News/ A member of the Parliamentary Integrity Committee Hadi Al-Salami submitted a complaint to the Iraqi Public Prosecution against the Minister of Finance and Agency Ihsan Abdul-Jabbar Ismail on charges of deliberate delay in releasing financial funds within the Emergency Food Security Support Law.
According to the complaint submitted by Al-Salami, and Shafak News Agency obtained a copy of it, "the Minister of Finance deliberately delayed releasing the financial funds for the ministries and governorates."
The complaint notes that "this deliberate delay led to the failure to implement projects in the ministries and governorates."
Al-Salami demanded the Public Prosecution Office to file a complaint against the Agency's Minister of Finance "because of negligence, negligence and harm to the interests of the Iraqi people."
In the absence of the approval of the 2022 budget, the Iraqi parliament passed the “Emergency Support for Food Security and Development” law, in a move that allows the government to spend on various priority projects with the aim of achieving food security and stability in the country.
The law's expenditures were set at 25 trillion Iraqi dinars (about $17 billion). Last July, Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi directed all his government ministries to mobilize their efforts to implement the provisions of the Food Security Law.
At the beginning of last August, Planning Minister Khaled Battal Al-Najm cleared his ministry of responsibility for the provinces that were late in sending the projects required to be included in the emergency food security law approved by the Iraqi Parliament.
