On Thursday, the representative of the State of Law coalition, Alia Nassif, called on the government to intervene to stop Kuwait's transgressions on the southern Iraqi borders, by land and sea, by building artificial islands beyond Column (160), indicating that the transgression will change the demographic features of the southern map of Iraq.
Nassif said in a statement, "The Kuwaiti transgressions on the Iraqi land and sea borders will not stop, taking advantage of the weakness of Iraqi diplomacy and the absence of the unity of the Iraqi political decision."
She added, "The current stage requires postponing negotiations with the Kuwaiti side, in compliance with the decision of the State Shura Council, due to the lack of a unified political will."
Nassif indicated that “the construction of these islands will change the demographic features of the southern Iraq map, and the government must move immediately and urgently to stop the construction of these islands, provided that it takes place through diplomatic channels between Iraq and the United Nations, as well as with the Kuwaiti side.”[/size]
