    On Sunday, the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) pledged to provide 32 soft loans to Iraq to establish vital projects in the fields of infrastructure, energy, transportation and health. 
    The agency's first vice president, Naoki Ando, ​​said in a statement reported by the official newspaper, "The agency is about to start developing the Khor Al-Zubair project in Basra at a cost of 200 million dollars, by establishing a basin to receive large ships, as well as implementing the Samawah water and sewage development projects in Baghdad, in addition to building A 200-bed hospital at a cost of $100 million in Shatrah, Dhi Qar Governorate. 
    Ando added, "The agency pledged to provide 32 loans worth 860 billion Japanese yen for infrastructure projects such as energy, water, transportation, health, irrigation, and budget assistance, accompanied by the provision of training courses abroad for about 10,000 trainees for these projects."  
    Endo promised, "The FCC Basra Refinery project is the largest at a cost of $4 billion, stressing the good progress of the project in building the refinery, pointing to the constant need for funding by the agency," noting that "the agency considers Iraq a key partner and is proud to work with the Iraqi side in Support the infrastructure that the country needs with Japanese expertise and soft loans and grants.
    For his part, the agency's director in Iraq, Yonda Jane, said, "The liberated areas in Iraq will witness the implementation of important projects such as the establishment of mobile power stations and the implementation of some education projects."
