    The Directorate of Civil Defense announced, on Wednesday, the rescue of assets in fire accidents worth more than 227 billion dirhams in the year 2022.
    The directorate said in a statement, "Its teams saved the equivalent of (227,358,434,000) as a result of fire accidents in the public, private and mixed sectors in all governorates except for the Kurdistan region for the year 2022." 
    The statement added, "The value of the sections of salvaged materials for the public and mixed sectors amounted to about (40,726,090,000) forty billion, seven hundred and twenty-six million and ninety thousand Iraqi dinars, while the value of sections of salvaged materials in the private sector amounted to (184,132,546,000) one hundred and eighty-four billion, one hundred and thirty-two million and five hundred." and forty-six thousand Iraqi dinars.”
    And the statement continued, "The Directorate instructed the reasons for the recurrence of fire accidents to the occurrence of electrical contact, negligence in applying the conditions of safety and security, and child abuse, and Iraq is also witnessing a rise in fire accident rates as a result of high temperatures on the one hand and the random wiring of electrical wires in private generators on the other hand," according to the statement. .
