Today, Tuesday, the Ministry of Health announced the amount of health insurance deduction from the employee's salary, while specifying the start date for the deduction.
"The health insurance project is in place, and registration processes are taking place amid periodic follow-up around the clock by the Minister of Health, Saleh Mahdi Al-Hasnawi," said Ihab Abdel-Karim, a spokesman for the Insurance Authority, in a statement.
He added, "The deduction for health insurance from the employees' salaries starts from next July, the start of the warranty service," noting that "the deduction is 1% of the salary of the employee participating in the guarantee, and it is at a rate of 5 thousand dinars for every 500 thousand of the employee's salary."
He continued, "The employee participating in the health insurance service pays the health service fees provided to him in the private wards of government hospitals at a rate of only 10%, while the health service fees for operations or others in government hospitals are 25% of their wages."
He explained that "health insurance includes retirees and beneficiaries of social protection salaries at certain rates determined by the Ministry of Labor, as well as a future plan to include citizens and workers in the private sector," pointing out that "the insurance includes the employee's wife, children, unmarried sisters, widows, divorcees, mother and father in case they do not have a salary."
