And a statement by Al-Sudani's office said, "Prime Minister Muhammad Shia'a Al-Sudani received, at his residence, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, on the sidelines of his participation in the 59th Munich Security Conference."
According to the statement, "the meeting witnessed discussions on the files of bilateral relations, and ways to strengthen and develop them at various levels and fields, in a way that enhances Iraq's ability to face economic challenges and development requirements."
Al-Sudani stressed, "Iraq gives special priority to economic reforms, the government's focus on developing the energy sector, and the establishment of development and investment partnerships in the gas sector."
He referred to "Iraq's desire to consolidate cooperation with the United States to combat terrorism, within the framework of providing training, advice and information exchange for the Iraqi security forces, in a manner that preserves Iraq's sovereignty and independence," stressing that "the government puts the goal of establishing balanced relations at the fore, in addition to the importance of the Iraqi role in stabilization in the region.
